Market Opportunity
British Gas wanted to gain an understanding of the size of the unrealised opportunity in each of the markets it operates in. The scope included the markets for both energy supply (domestic gas and electricity) and services (servicing and repair contracts). The 3 month project involved compiling and analysing data from many internal and external sources. The result was an assessment, for each market, the current size of the market, its maximum potential size and the British Gas current and potential share. The work was used to develop the company’s marketing strategy.
